In our May newsletter we asked you how massage therapy has positively impacted your life.  Your responses were entered into a drawing for a complimentary 80-minute massage at River North Massage Therapy Center.

I am an athlete so massages really help my muscles relax and help with my ability to keep going as well. In addition, massage help with my mental health as I'm able to disconnect and just relax. So grateful to River North Massage which is my place to go for all of it. 
 
Massage has empowered me to care for my wife  as she recovered from a  shattered elbow and fractured knee
 
I have periodic piriformis issues and am a hiker. Massage helps proactively so that I have no problems:)
 
When I enter the massage room, my body and mind know and trust the safe space that was so intentionally created.  I am able to melt away for those 60/80 minutes into a beautiful oblivion.  Breathing automatically slows down, my mind has learned to quiet and chill in this space.

This has positively impacted my life because it clears headspace for me, eases aches and pains and allows me to move through the huddle and hussle of life a bit smoother, more mindfully and more peacefully.

As they say, when life be life-ing, I owe it to myself to have a special moment. I'm deliberate and intentional about wringing the stressors and negative triggers out of my mind and  most importantly my body.  This is why having a massage from my amazing masseuse  is so necessary.  A great massage is transformative and impactful because it helps me to decompress and reset my energies in a positive way. Getting the massage is my favorite self care routine because I feel whole again and ready to face whatever challenges are thrown my way. 
 
Working out hard with my trainer makes me happy but getting into my 40s, working out that hard takes a toll on my body. I could either reduce my training or figure out a way to incorporate  better recovery strategies. Getting a good massage every couple weeks has helped me with my recovery more than I ever imagined and it's allowing me to continue working out with my trainer on a regular basis along with being able to do other activities due to less soreness.
 
Massages have brought my partner and I closer. We are able to take techniques we've learned from massages and use those techniques to target any pain areas we might be experiencing. It has given us a chance to help each other when we are experiencing acute pain. 
 
Being a student and always stressing about exams and sitting takes a toll in my body. I've notice whenever I get massages not only do I feel physically better but I also feel like my brain can think and handle tasks better 
 
I ask my wife for massages and it irritates her.  So she is very happy when I go and get massages. You know what they say happy wife happy life. 
 
I have scoliosis and my doctor says I have a "high maintenance" back. Between core exercises and monthly massages, I'm able to avoid surgery and severe pain. Massage is also mentally healthy, helping me sleep better that night. 
 
It allows me time to unwind without any distractions. I can take time for myself and come back feeling refreshed and relaxed. It also helps my body feel better + perform better. 
 
Taking the massage course has granted me so many massages over the last 9 months. Having a holistic health approach to my like I had been receiving Chiropractic care for over 2 years prior.  Going 1-3 times a week! It wasn't until about 6 months in I felt like my adjustments where STICKING. I have also been living with less pain day to day. I'm so grateful to have been able to get so much massage work to finally feel safe and at home and COMFORTABLE in my skin again. 
 
My father passed away unexpectedly last year and I've been executing his estate and holding an insane amount of tension in my back/shoulders (related). Going to River North Massage Therapy has been a little treat to help relax during this chaotic time.
 
Massages are relaxing and help to reduce anxiety and stress in my life. They help with muscle soreness and tightness, making it easier to move. After a massage, I feel relaxed and calm, which helps me get a good night sleep.

I'm a software engineer. I'm Type A, high-strung. Even the start of a massage, where I'm getting touched all over - especially my legs - I start getting back in touch with my body. I'm embarrassed to admit how far I stray from being "in" my body, but a massage is a perfect way to come back to earth.
 
I'm a fitness instructor for a living so massages are a crucial step in my recovery. All day long I'm putting my body to work so my favorite time is when someone gets to work on me. It has also helped me with injuries as well and I truly wish I got massages done more often!

Massage has had an incredibly positive impact my life. River North Massage truly cares about your well being.  The moment you walk in you are greeted with a smile. This place is full of positive healing energy. The massage therapists are healing experts, knowing exactly where to hit the perfect pressure point and how long to hold. Your body leaves feeling absolutely rejuvenated and wellbeing restored. My back and neck pain has reduced considerably after attending regular appointments. I sleep better, am more flexible, and live better with regular massage. I couldn't recommend River North Massage enough! Thank you to everyone who has helped me!
 
Massage has provided me relief from muscle tension and stress. I suffer from chronic back pain and regular massages have helped to mitigate that pain. It's now been 1 year+ since I have dealt with a major back pain episode that used to leave me immobile for days. 

It is one of my favorite parts of my life!  Having a regular massage every two weeks is something I look forward to- it makes me feel great and have time away to just reflect on my current situation and focus on myself.  
 
I had a wonderful 80 minute massage with Russ last month.  I travel a lot for work and all the back to back travel and stress had really done a number on my back, neck and shoulders.  Russ literally changed my life, I left River North Massage Therapy Center with a spring in my step, my neck and shoulders felt one thousand percent better .  I try to do monthly massages but sometimes life and work get in the way.  You guys are just the best , everyone on your team is just incredible.
 
My monthly massages have allowed me the space to disconnect and refocus, both mentally and physically. I always look forward to them!
